Changes

Essendo in vacanza da Facebook mi sono ancorata nel blogworld tanto per sfogarmi un po`.
Negli ultimi mesi, qualsiasi direzione prendo finisco sempre per sbattere il viso sui cambiamenti. Cambiamenti al lavoro, cambiamenti a casa, cambiamenti nella vita spirituale.

Una vita monotona finisce per essere noiosa , i cambiamenti sono sempre ben accolti per dare un po` di tocco ed entusiasmo al corso della nostra vita quotidiana.
Non sempre accettare cio` che diverso da quello che siamo abituati e` facile, puo` significare correre rischi, fare rinuncie, perdere cio` che hai per l’insicurezza di cio` che forse potrai avere, essere soddisfatta dalle aspettative o delusa.

Non potrei essere piu` felice dei cambiamenti che stanno avvenendo nel campo del lavoro o spiritualmente, necessari, attesi, ben voluti, accolti a braccia aperte.
Cambiamanti a casa e` tutta un’altra storia. Chi mi conosce sa gia` che negli ultimi mesi ci sono stati, e ci sono ancora, dei lavori in corso per trasformare cio` che era un garage in un piccolo appartamento. I lavori sono quasi alla fine ma i risultati sono deludenti. Con il progredire dei lavori la mia casa e` caduta in un processo di distruzione. Man mano che un progetto viene completato nell’appartamento qualcosa si rompe o non funziona piu` in casa. Dall’elettricita`, al telefono, ai problem idraulici, recinto e cancello in giardino, sistema di irrigazione dell’erba e piante, per non parlare che non esiste piu` la piscina e il patio.

Cambiamenti si, ma adesso e` troppo. Qualche settimana fa il pastore in chiesa diceva: “accogli a braccia aperte il fresco e piacevole venticello del cambiamento”. Questo, altro che venticello e` un uragano, mi chiedo se c’e` un limite nell’ accettare positivamente tutto cio` che cambia intorno alla nostra vita prima di poter urlare:
“adesso basta”

A Second Chance

Every single person deserves another chance in their own life…..

Che sia nel campo del lavoro, amicizie, famiglia o relazioni sentimentali.
A volte le circostanze della vita portano a scegliere una strada invece di un’altra, cio` puo` risultare a non essere il percorso giusto. Ti guardi indietro, ti rendi conto dell’errore, nella tua dolce semplicita` e genuinita` cerchi la tua seconda opportunita` che tanto meriti e desideri.
Di certo, tanti hanno avuto la loro seconda opportunita` o hanno avuto modo di offrirla a qualcuno. Magari, in tanti hanno avuto la loro vita trasformata o hanno raggiunto traguardi rilevanti nella loro carriera, grazie ad un’altra oppertunita` data / ricevuta.
Allora perche` negarla?
Purtroppo non ho una risposta a questa domanda.

In faith you know that your future is secure, because it is not controlled by external circumstances or other individuals. God is your guiding force, and in harmony with Him each day you are preparing for your future.

Gala 2009

Once again the marvelous Cipriani 42nd hosted La Scuola annual benefit 2009, and this year marks the 32nd anniversary since La Scuola was founded in 1977.
As every year I with my students made beautiful projects to be put on auction during the night.
I have the three years old hand printed stepstools, the four and five years draw their portraits on apron. Very easy task and lots of fun!

Through the night while we were celebrating and honoring our special guests, those items became the center of a bidding war and even in this current economic difficulties, they were easily sold.

Snow day.. here I'm

What a nice way to start the week by staying at home today..
Gli studenti de La Scuola hanno iniziato a festeggiare the snow day gia` da ieri sera ancora prima che il nostro piano d’emergenza venisse messo in moto.
It took just 30 minutes and few phones call to make all the students and teachers very happy for the extra day at home!
Was at 6:00am when Bloomberg announced that the New York City public schools were closed due the snow! The first snow day in five years..
La Scuola had a snow day in 2008, but we can use this one too!

Italian bird blog: one year later

One year already passed I could not believe it; I feel is a big deal I made so far.
The first post on I.B. blog was on February 14 2008.
The blog started one year ago thanks Spartacus’ help. He gets me involved in the blog world and encourages me all the way. Without him I.B. would not exists. (On the encouragement part I have to give also some credits to Jack or he will make my life miserable on the 6:17 train).
A year later I end up with some virtual friends, I would like to knowledge, our dearest Dcup, now Lisa from That’s Why. Thanks for being around and dealing with my Italian and bad English. You are the best!

Fran I am, I feel close to her I share her faith and optimism about life!

Lemon Gloria, I love her, I love her stories, her pregnancy…
