Over the years teaching at La Scuola d’Italia NY, I have learned that children are not just students; they are careful observers of the world, full of questions, insights, and wonder. Their words, often simple yet profound, remind us how important it is to pause and truly listen. On the occasion of the school’s 2026 Gala Fundraising event, I had the honor of sharing these reflections in an article published by the Newyorkese  newspaper titled “La Scuola: Voices of Our Young Learners.” In this article, I wanted to highlight just that: the beauty of giving space to the voices of our youngest students and how, every day, they are the ones teaching something to us adults as well.

Negli anni trascorsi a insegnare alla La Scuola d’Italia NY, ho imparato che i bambini non sono solo studenti: sono osservatori attenti del mondo, pieni di domande, intuizioni e meraviglia. Le loro parole, spesso semplici ma profonde, ci ricordano quanto sia importante fermarsi ad ascoltare. In occasione del Gala fundraising 2026  della scuola, ho avuto l’onore di condividere queste riflessioni in un articolo pubblicato dal giornale Newyorkese, intitolato “La Scuola: Voices of Our Young Learners”. In questo articolo ho voluto raccontare proprio questo: la bellezza di dare spazio alla voce dei nostri studenti più piccoli e quanto, ogni giorno, siano loro a insegnare qualcosa anche a noi adulti.
